Allow five to seven nights and consider either one anchor with selective outings or a deliberate two-base split. Two or three Palma nights followed by a longer mountain or coastal chapter can work when each has a clear purpose. A short stay usually gains more from fewer transfers than from a daily circuit of widely separated beaches.

Choose the current Palma to Sóller train service for the journey itself, then leave time in the town before returning. The tram to Port de Sóller is a separate segment, even when sold in a combined format. Confirm the date-specific timetable, ticket conditions and boarding access; some departures require box-office consultation. Avoid treating the historic service as a guaranteed year-round transfer.

Let Port de Sóller be a place to stop

Choose a comfortable public waterfront stretch at Port de Sóller, then sit for a drink or meal instead of immediately adding a boat excursion. Allow forty-five to ninety minutes and confirm the return to Sóller town or the accommodation. Weather, surfaces and personal stamina should set the distance. This is a shore-based visit; swimming, charter availability and access to other coves are separate matters.
