Wengen and Mürren offer a mountain-village stay above the Lauterbrunnen valley. Both are car-free for ordinary visitor access, so luggage and the final hotel approach need a deliberate plan. Wengen connects naturally with the railway route toward Kleine Scheidegg. Mürren is a distinct base on the other side of the valley, not an interchangeable station on that route. Lauterbrunnen keeps you at valley level, with its own village and waterfall setting.

Allow four to six nights as an editorial starting point, using one base for most short stays. Choose a small number of meaningful outings rather than trying to link every village and summit.
